This is about as simple an extension as you can find for showing a web feed (news, atom, rss etc). This relies on the client browser displaying the feed in a new tab or window (depending on the browser user settings). The user simply clicks an animated button to open the feed in a new tab. The url can also be that of a regular web page.

Most browsers include native support for viewing web feeds, so if the user can reach a web feed by entering the url directly in the browser, then this module should work. This may provide a solution in cases where the "Error loading feed data." banner appears at the top of the page, or other feed error, as it does not rely on server host access to feed urls. Also the module does not use any cache. The user is then also able to take advantage of any options or additional/add-on functionality included with their browser to separately subscribe to or manage feeds.
